The cosy light companion
Mutsu table lamp is sheet metal design lamp, designed to cater to the cosy home feeling. It shines with a beautiful striped pattern. With its four different color modes and four brightness levels, it fully accompanies three contexts of use: day / evening / night.
Idea / Design / Execution
Why
As of today, there is no table lamp that combines high quality casing materials, carefully crafted LED user experience, design with humour and light modes that truly accommodate each use scenario. A custom and tailored light experience.
How
A simple sketch on paper gave birth to the general design and its proportions. It was then taken into CAD, 3D printed and iterated upon. The PCB and its firmware were engineered by Pim Swinkels Creative Engineering. Sheet metal prototypes were made at Lens B.V. in Rotterdam. Further code development was done by me and good friend Claude.ai. The packaging and user manual was then made and the final design was tested and CE-certified in a testing laboratory for safe and legal distribution in Europe.

What
The mutsu lamp was born: A sheet metal portable table lamp catered for day / evening / night use. Starting in 2026, it will be available at monomore.store in multiple colors. With its USB-C port, button and screws, the lamp displays a little face on its top. Feed it electricity when it is power-hungy. Its 'hashtag'-like light pattern adds flair to every surface. Enjoy this fun lamp and cosify your home.
